Grilled Artichokes

Serves: 4

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 25 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Comments

This is a delicious way to prepare fresh artichokes! Artichokes are naturally high in sodium, so you don't need to add much salt.

Ingredients

2 artichokes, fresh

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon pepper, black, ground

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Trim sharp ends of leaves from artichokes using cooking scissors. Cut artichoke in quarters from the stem downwards. Use a small knife to carefully remove the fibers from around the artichoke hearts, then use a spoon to scrape away any excess. Cook artichokes in boiling water for 10 minutes. Drain artichokes and place in a large bowl. Drizzle artichokes with olive oil and seasonings. Preheat an outdoor grill to medium high heat. Place artichokes on grill and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes until hearts are fork tender, turning occasionally. Remove from grill and serve.
