Prep Time: 10 minutes (marinate 6 hours)
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
These are a favorite treat, but are high in fat and sugar, so eat in moderation. Have the butcher cut the short ribs Korean Style - thinly sliced and cut accross the bone. Marinate the ribs overnight for the best flavor, or first thing in the morning the day you want to serve them.
3 pound(s) beef short ribs, lean, Korean Cut lengthwise, fat trimmed
1/2 cup soy sauce, low sodium
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons garlic, bottled minced
1 tablespoon sesame oil, dark
6 green onion(s)
1/2 teaspoon pepper, black, ground
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
Finely chop the green onions. Combine all of the ingredients except the ribs in a medium bowl and whisk together. Place the ribs in a large zip lock bag and pour the marinade in. Mix around to coat all of the ribs with the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours up to 2 days. Heat an outdoor grill over medium high and barbeque each side for about 2-3 minutes until browned and lightly crisp. The sugar in the marinade can burn on the grill, so watch them carefully as they cook. You can also cook them in a broiler on high for about 3 minutes on each side.
